Organic B.R.A.T. Feel Better Drink

My Baby Dude, age two, finally succumbed to his first stomach bug last night. He was so afraid as he vomited, his eyes widened, looking at me for help and solace. Breastfeeding and water can only do so much, and living the lifestyle we lead (all-natural and organics) I hate turning to sports drinks with artificial flavorings and such. Thankfully, for his first illness of this sort, I didn’t have to.

Do you recall the age-old advice “Bananas Rice Applesauce Toast” for stomach problems, usually referred to as the “B.R.A.T. Diet?” Well, gratefully, there is now an electrolyte drink for children with tummy issues, and we were given the opportunity to try three flavors of this organic drink – Chocolate Honey, Vanilla and Original.

My toddler certainly enjoyed the taste of the both the Vanilla and Chocolate Honey flavors. I could tell it helped pep him up a bit as he sipped the drinks. I could also tell by his wet diapers that it was working, too, in helping rehydrate him.

My older toddler has used these products before, too. Being the huge chocolate-milk lover, we were able to convince her that the Chocolate Honey flavor was a “chocolate milk for sick girls” drink. Thankfully she believed it, and it didn’t hurt that it tasted pretty good, too. (Mind you, this drink is non-dairy, AND yummy – it doesn’t have to be just for kids. I imagine it would help morning sickness, too.)

You can find out more about the diet by visiting www.BratDiet.org or ordering online at https://bratdiet.elsstore.com/.

Leave the beach at the beach

Kids covered from head to toe in sticky sand? Reach in your diaper bag for the Baby Powder, give them a good shake-down (with the powder, that is) and “Poof!” they’ll be clean as a whistle (and smelling powder fresh to boot!)
